What is the Orangeburg County Sustainability Plan? 

The Orangeburg County Sustainability Plan is a major planning effort to establish a cohesive, countywide vision for the County’s future growth and an actionable strategy to achieve it. The Sustainability Plan will be a policy document that will guide growth in the County for years to come.

Why does Orangeburg County need a Sustainability Plan? 

This planning process allows the Orangeburg County community to work together to make Orangeburg County an even better place in the future. By planning for future growth, Orangeburg County can provide quality services to community members at a reasonable cost and plan growth so that there are abundant opportunities for all.

How can I get involved? 

Attending public engagement events and completing surveys is the best way to get involved in the Sustainability Plan. If you sign up to receive email updates on the Sustainability Plan, you will be notified when there are new opportunities to provide your perspective and insight to help shape the plan.

How long is the planning process? 

The process officially kicked off in the Fall of 2024 and is anticipated to be completed in the Winter of 2025.
